Hanscom Field Car Service, Bedford

Hanscom is Massport's general aviation airport in Bedford, roughly 20 miles northwest of Boston and the designated reliever field for Logan. Almost everything moving through it is corporate or private, which means your car meets you at an FBO rather than a public terminal. We coordinate the pickup with whichever FBO is handling your flight.

How a Hanscom pickup runs

Bags off the cart and straight into the trunk.

Send the tail number, the FBO and the estimated arrival, and the rest is a phone call between us and the handler. We stage before the aircraft is on the ground, the FBO tells us where to be, and the cases come off the ramp cart into an open trunk. Wheels down to moving is usually a couple of minutes, because the walk everyone does through a commercial terminal simply does not exist out here.

Where we wait

At the FBO, not a public kerb.

Hanscom's three FBOs, Signature Aviation, Jet Aviation and Atlantic Aviation, each run their own lounge, ramp and handling. Tell us which one your flight is using and we arrange the pickup with them directly for that arrival. Ramp access belongs to the FBO, so we ask rather than assume, and we do it the day before rather than at the gate with a passenger waiting.

Hanscom questions.

Where is Hanscom Field?

Bedford, Massachusetts, roughly 20 miles northwest of Boston. It is owned and operated by Massport and it is the region's main full service general aviation airport, which is why corporate and private flights use it instead of Logan. From Methuen it is a straightforward run south and west of the Valley.

Which FBO do you meet me at?

Whichever one is handling your flight. Hanscom's FBOs are Signature Aviation, Jet Aviation and Atlantic Aviation, each with its own lounge and ramp. Send the FBO name with your tail number and arrival time and we coordinate the pickup with that handler directly, so nobody is making a phone call while you are standing there.

Can you move a whole aircraft, not just one passenger?

Yes. Give us the head count and the bag count and we confirm the vehicle on your quote. The Mercedes Sprinter limo seats 12 and you can walk into it standing up, and the coach seats 38 with reclining seats and luggage bays underneath. For smaller parties the Escalade and the Tahoe both take real luggage without folding a seat down.

Do you set up corporate accounts?

Yes, with monthly billing. Corporate accounts cover repeat executive travel, roadshows, conference shuttles and airport runs across New England, all on one invoice and one point of contact. We have handled multi stop roadshows through Boston and southern New Hampshire and large corporate summits.
